Ingenuity Feeds Students on Furlough Friday

Waimea Middle School students learned that a little can go a long way. In an effort to provide lunch for the 281-student population on this week's furlough Friday, the school organized Stone Soup Day, an idea based upon the folk tale "Stone Soup." Students were asked to bring in one item that would be contributed to a pot of stone soup, or Portuguese bean soup, for their homeroom's lunch.
