Ka Waihona o ka Na`auao Charter School offers a schooling experience that is a viable alternative to the existing conventional public school model. Our school is structured to be responsive to the learning styles, cultural values, and future desires of the families of our community. We emphasize a caring collaborative environment for all persons within the school community. We include students, teachers, parents, other staff, volunteers, and community members implementing an effective and relevant educational experience.

Most staff members and Na Kumu are of Native Hawaiian descent or reside in the very community that our student population come from. This is purposely done so our staff and na kumu understands the students culture and  community that they live in, thus being much more effective in teaching them.

Our student population is made up of 93% Native Hawaiians residing on the Waianae Coast. Technology has become a great factor in our student learning. In order to progress through the 21st century, we have maximized our investments alotted in bringing the best technology for our students to do project based learning. Thus, creating an environment of desired learning and preparing our students for the 21st century.
