Voyager is a K-8 school of 240 students located in Honolulu. Three research-based learning methodologies and three foreign languages provide the foundation for this exceptional program that reaches the critical balance of personal excellence and academic growth. Voyager embraces all learning styles in a nurturing setting that promotes Joy in Learning for both students and teachers. Through a variety of school and community experiences students learn what it means to be responsible for themselves and their community. Voyager's eighth grade graduates have gone on to be highly successful at both private and public high schools proving the Voyager method works!
Voyager's three core principals are Unity in Diversity, All One Family, and the Golden Rule. All are welcome and all are supported in reaching the highest personal and academic standards.
Voyager students are engaged in complex group learning projects from the time they are in second grade. At the earliest ages Voyager students are devloping the skills of creativity, collaboration, and shared learning in preparation for success and fulfillment in our complex world.
Lifelong learning is modeled by teachers and taught in and out of the classroom through enriching, relevant, meaningful life experiences. Families are included as part of the learning community, partnering with school personnel to provide optimal learning for their child(ren). Parent participation reached an all-time high this year with over 90% of families participating in our parent, student, teacher organization.
